Lifeboat Rescue Off Suffolk’s Coast

It has been a busy time for Lowestfoft’s Lifeboat crew as it helped with two more incidents.

Strong winds buffeted a Dutch yacht which had to be rescued after its engines failed.

The resuce happened three miles off the Suffolk coast on Sunday (16th July), close to the Holm Sands

In challenging weather conditions – there was a 25 knot wind and sea swell of 2 metres. The boat was eventually towed safely via the Stanford Channel into the yacht marina.

The Lifeboat crew also assisted a team from the Coastguard with another incident, this time off  Lowestoft’s South Beach on Monday evening (17th July).
