Renewed Police Appeal Following Assault

Police have renewed their appeal  for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Lowestoft.

The incident took place on Saturday 5th September at Bleach Park, on the junction of Winnipeg Road and Church Road at around 2:30pm.

After an altercation involving a number of children, an older youth punched one the children’s dad in the face. The suspect then walked off in the direction of Water Lane.

The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained a broken jaw and was taken to hospital. The injuries require surgical treatment.

Police are looking to trace a family who were in the park at the time of the incident and may be able to assist the investigation.
