Crowds gathered this morning (20th June) to watch the sun rise above a clear horizon in Lowestoft.
As the sun lifting above a mainly clear sky at 4.30, it was greeted by people who had gathered at Ness Point - the UK's most easterly point.
For some, the day was set to be a long one. As after watch the sun rise in Suffolk - they headed across Eng;and to watch it set in Cornwall at Land's End.

The dates of summer and winter soltices can vary and fall between the 20th and 22nd of June and December respectively.
Dates of the spring eqinox in March and autumn equinox in September can also vary.
