Suffolk Lock Shut for Repairs

Work on Suffolk’s gateway to the Broads has been shut for repairs that will last for weeks.

Major work is now underway at Mutford Lock Bridge in Oulton Broad - and will include some of the lock gates being lifted from out of the water.

From today (Wednesday 12th February) until 28th March - the Broads Authority says that boat users need to think about their plans when in the area.

The Broads are the UK's largest protected wetland and third largest inland waterway, with the status of a national park. It is also home to some of the rarest plants and animals in the UK.

The Broads Authority was set up in 1989, with responsibility for conservation, planning, recreation and waterways.
