As the New Year arrives we could see strong and disruptive winds here in east Suffolk.
New Year celebration plans could be impacted by wind speeds of around 40 to 50mph on New Years Eve / Tuesday evening.
During Wednesday - the first day of 2025 may see gusts of 50 to 60mph for a time in places such as Lowestoft, Beccles, Halesworth and Leiston.
The strong winds are likelly to be accompanied by some heavy rain Wednesday afternoon - when we could see the highest gusts of wind here in Suffolk. A Met Office warning has been updated for east Suffolk on New Years Day.
Meanwhile, from Thursday - colder weather could bring some sharp overnight frosts and ice. On Thursday - scattered sleet and snow showers could also blow in on the north or north westerly wind.
