Jess Asato has made her first official engagement as the new MP for Lowestoft and Beccles.

Speaking to East Suffolk One at the weekend, the Labour MP says NHS Dentistry is her top priority.

"I made six key pledges during the election. The key one is around NHS dentistry. You and your listeners will know it is almost impossible to get an NHS dentist. I met more than six people who had pulled their own teeth out. It's a Dickensian sort of thing to be experiencing. And we now know who our dentistry minister is, Stephen Kinnick, and I'll be writing a letter to him now that that's been confirmed."

Asato also says a lot can be done to put Lowestoft and Beccles on the map which will be in focus over the next 6 to 12 months.

She is the first female MP to be elected in the history of the constituency since it was founded more than 150 years ago.
