A man has been charged in connection with a burglary in Beccles in which two air rifles were stolen.
Officers were called at 12.57pm on Tuesday 14 May, when a member of the public reported suspicious activity in Rigbourne Hill, Beccles before receiving a further call reporting a burglary in progress at an address in the same street. Two air rifles, as well as an Xbox games console were stolen. Two suspects were seen to leave the address.
Officers including members of the Roads and Armed Policing Team attended the incident and two air rifles were subsequently located by police.
On 16 May a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion burglary. He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently bailed to return to police on 1 August.
Thursday 11 July, a 31-year-old man was arrested in Gisleham near Lowestoft and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
Jai Souter, 31, of Rigbourne Hill, Beccles, was subsequently charged with aggravated burglary, theft in dwelling, possession of prohibited weapons, production of cannabis and possession of cannabis.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court Friday 12 July, where he was remanded by the court to next appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 9 August.
