The 27th January marks Holocaust Memorial Day - and this has been remembered here in Suffolk. Services and events of remembrance took place in east Suffolk, remembering the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust in World War 2 - as well as other acts of genocide, such as in Rwanda and Cambodia. Lowestoft's Railway Station was the venue for a memorial service, which included speeches from Town Mayor Councillor Alan Green and Peter Aldous MP. At Kensington Gardens in Lowestoft, a new bench was being officially unveiled by the Town Council to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. In Southwold, the day was marked at the town's Arts Centre, with speeches and films. Children from St Mary's School with the newly unvieled bench.
