East Suffolk’s is marking today's Earth Day - with this year's theme: People vs Plastic.
Amongst those taking part is a school in Beccles - as the Sir John Leman ask teachers to spend some of their lesson time to highlight the subject of sustainability.
Plant based foods are available in the school canteen - along with reasons of their benefits.
The East Suffolk Railway Lines are also promoting the train as a much greener way to travel that produces a lot less CO2 than driving.
Meanwhile to mark the day a brand new poster (below) will soon be displayed in shops and homes all over Saxmundham. The Town Council Green Team have worked in collaboration with Saxmundham Primary School and their Eco Team who provided the ideas and the images.
The poster shows all the places around Saxmundham that you can recycle. The Council are hoping it will encourage more people to use the High Street to recycle common household items.
Earth Day started in 1970 - and aims to raise awareness of the environmental movement around the world and drive positive action for the planet.
