New Port Lowestoft Office Opened
Associated British Ports, has officially unveiled a new state-of-the-art port office in Lowestoft.
The £250,000 investment in the Suffolk town, is part of an overall total of more than £2.2 million spent in the Port of Lowestoft in the last 12 months. This has included £800,000 spent on a new pilot boat and facilities – and over £1.4 million spent on other improvements such as IT upgrades including better wi-fi capability, new fencing and security measures.
As the UK’s most eastern port, Lowestoft has a long history of servicing offshore energy projects and offers highly-skilled teams equipped to safely and efficiently handle a wide range of cargoes.
The new office was opened by Waveney MP, Peter Aldous, who said that – ‘the port is also increasingly popular with leisure and sailing crafts, as well as being the home port of CEFAS Endeavour, which compliments the investment in CEFAS and their new office headquarters at Pakefield.’
