It has been hailed by the county council as Suffolk’s most significant infrastructure development in recent memory.

Lowestoft’s long-awaited third crossing over Lake Lothing is almost a reality.

The  County Council’s Cabinet will be asked to approve a range of recommendations later this month, which will include approving the project’s final budget, the award of the contract to build the iconic structure and the name of the bridge following a competition held in local schools.

If given the green light, construction aims to start in the Spring of 2021. With no other unavoidable delays, the opening of the bridge could be in the summer 2023.
