Have Your Say on Suffolk Villages Plan

Local residents are invited to comment on the Lound with Ashby, Herringfleet and Somerleyton Neighbourhood Plan, ahead of it being submitted for independent examination. 

​Lound with Ashby, Herringfleet and Somerleyton Parish Councils have submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to East Suffolk Council and the Broads Authority ahead of it being submitted for independent examination.

East Suffolk Council is publicising the plan and inviting representations, which will be forwarded to the examiner for consideration alongside the plan. Subject to the plan successfully completing all the relevant regulatory stages, the policies and proposals contained in the plan will be used by East Suffolk Council and the Broads Authority in the determination of planning applications within the Lound with Ashby, Herringfleet and Somerleyton Neighbourhood Area. 

Councillor David Ritchie, East Suffolk’s cabinet member for Planning and Coastal Management said: “Neighbourhood planning enables local communities to get directly involved with shaping the areas in which they live and work. I would encourage those living in the area to view the plan and submit their comments.”

Copies of the Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents are available at www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplanning.

Physical copies are also available to view at Lowestoft and Oulton Broad libraries.   

Should anyone not be able to view the documents online or in person, please call 01394 444557 or email planningpolicy@eastsuffolk.gov.uk and where possible, physical copies or specific sections of the documents will be provided by post.

 Alternatively, comments can be emailed to planningpolicy@eastsuffolk.gov.uk or posted to East Suffolk Council, Planning Policy and Delivery Team (Neighbourhood Plans), Riverside, 4 Canning Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR33 0EQ.  

All representations should be headed Lound with Ashby, Herringfleet and Somerleyton Neighbourhood Plan as the subject matter.

 Where representations relate to a particular paragraph or policy, please ensure that this is also clearly stated. Any representations made may include a request to be notified of East Suffolk Council’s decision whether to accept the Examiners’ recommendation and future progress with the plan. 

The consultation closes at 5pm on 13 October 2021


All representations will be made available to view online as soon as possible after the close of the consultation.
