East Suffolk District Council says it will work with EDF, partners and key stakeholders to lessen the impact of the development of Sizewell C for the local community.
Permission to build the third nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast has been granted by the Secretary of state – despite concerns from the Planning Inspectorate.
The District Council says it’s reviewing all the documentation but is looking forward to working with contractors as the construction work begins.
Meanwhile, Suffolk County Council says it’ll work to ensure the county gets the maximum benefit from the project
Local opposition to Sizewell C has been fierce, with possibly further portests planned at the site.
