Funding Boost for Local Community Projects

Community projects across East Suffolk have received a funding boost to support their activities which benefit local residents.
Following successful applications to East Suffolk Council’s Enabling Communities ‘Exemplar Grant Programme’ – 19 community projects were chosen to each receive a share of £160,000 to help deliver projects and activities which will benefit East Suffolk residents. 
Some of the projects to receive funding in Lowestoft include the buying of a minibus for the Allsorts Support Services group, providing theatre courses within Lowestoft schools at the Seagull Theatre and Lowestoft Movers, to establish dance and movement classes for the over 55s. 
Meanwhile, the construction of a heritage hut by the Thorpeness & Aldringham Heritage Group and funds to help refurbish, upgrade and reline the main pool at Beccles Lido were some of the other projects that received funds.
