A unique historical event is coming to Lowestoft.

The launch of ‘We Remember and Won’t Forget’ - will be taking place in the Triangle Market tomorrow - and is also the name of a poem and film which has been inspired by stories and memories of leisure and entertainment in the town.

The poem was created by pupils from Roman Hill Primary School and residents at Hildesley Court retirement home…and includes cinemas, carnivals and long hot summer days on the beaches of Suffolk.

'We Remember & Won't Forget' is part of the Lowestoft Town Hall redevelopment project… which will give the iconic building in the historic High Street a new lease of life.

There'll also be a big exhibition of archive photos from the Jack Rose Collection. So in addition to pictures of Lowestoft's entertainments past and present, there'll also be some wonderful images (from 1860 to the present day) of the High Street, Kirkley and the town's industries.

There will also be free souvenir postcards available, showcasing the verses of the poem across three different designs and featuring the archive photos which inspired the words.

So do drop by 91 High Street on Saturday for a yarn.
