Dredging Work on Oulton Broad

Background

Users of a busy and popular waterway are being warned that dredging works carried out between April and September may cause delays and restrictions.

Floating pontoons and small work vessels are set to be used by the Broads Authority, as they carry out the dredging in Oulton Broad and Oulton Dyke.

Access will still be possible – but anyone using the stretches of water is advised to take care when passing the work.

Meanwhile, the news of work at Oulton Broad follows the closure of Haddiscoe Cut, which was shut for further repair work because of high tide damage during the winter.

Haddicoe Cut is due to open on Friday 1st April but with restrictions on this waterway continuing until 14th April.
