A brand new plan for Lowestoft’s town centre has been revealed by East Suffolk Council – and act as a ‘blueprint for change’ over the next 10 to 15 years.

The Lowestoft Town Centre Masterplan has been dubbed ‘ambitious’, which presents a response to the challenges faced within the town – and is hoped to be a catalyst to secure inward investment for the further development of the town centre.

Developed through stakeholder workshops, with representatives from across Lowestoft, the masterplan aims to provide a singular vision and direction, as part of the wider ambitions for the whole of the town.

East Suffolk Council believes that Lowestoft already has significant advantages, with economic opportunities through the growth in offshore renewable energy and tourism attractions along the South Beach.

Meanwhile, large-scale infrastructure projects are on the horizon, such as the Lake Lothing Third Crossing and the tidal flood defences.
