Forget-me-Nots is a group for people with memory problems, as well as family carers. Between 2pm and 4pm, the group meet up twice a month - this being on the first Tuesday of the month and the third Monday in the month. Two women from Beccles, skydived for a domestic abuse charity on Sunday 10th September 2023. Jen and Gemma Loades-Hoye are raising money for the Leeway Charity which provides specialist domestic abuse support across Suffolk and Norfolk. Glorious sunshine and clear skies greeted the 25 supporters who took part in the fundraising challenge at Beccles Airfield, helping to raise an amazing £12,500! All money raised from the event will go towards enhancing the NIDAS service (Norfolk Integrated Domestic Abuse Service), which Leeway delivers alongside other local service providers. NIDAS is a countywide service supporting those who are experiencing domestic abuse and are assessed at being high or medium risk of harm, regardless of where they live across the county. Since launching in January 2022, the service has expanded to provide specialist support for LGBTQ+ survivors, older adults, and other groups that may face additional barriers when accessing support.
