After months of uncertainty, Lowestoft’s iconic Claremont Pier and is now under new management, as it enters a new era.
The new owners – RTT Leisure – is a family business and have told us here at East Suffolk One, that the sale was completed on Monday this week.
Work is continuing at the pier but the ice cream kiosk and fish and chip shop are now open.
Meanwhile, what will be an extended amusement arcade is set to re-open in the coming days and what was the Rocksalt restaurant will become a gift shop.
Other longer term plans include seeking the funding for the expensive regeneration of the wooden pier to make it fully functional. If successful, this would mean that boats could once again stop at the end of the pier.
