Bungay – Arrest made following assault

Police have arrested a teenage boy following an assault in Bungay, which occurred on Sunday 16th February, when one group of men was assaulted by another group in the town.

As a result of this incident, a man aged his 20s, sustained swelling to his face and a cut to his left cheek after he was hit with a weapon.


Following an investigation, a 15-year-old teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.


The teenage boy was subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.


​Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a group of men in the area shortly prior to or after the incident in Hillside Road East at around 12.45am on Sunday 16th February, should contact Suffolk police, by phoning 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
