Attempted robbery in Lowestoft

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery in Lowestoft. 
It took place on the junction of St Margaret’s Road and Sussex Road in Lowestoft at around 10:50pm on Friday 7 February. 
A man wearing a dark hooded top entered the Meikle Newsagents store making demands for money  – and was confronted by the shopkeeper, who was subsequently assaulted and sustained an eye and hand injury. 
The offender ran along Sussex Road and into an alleyway. No money was taken in the incident.
