Appeal following assault in Bungay

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Bungay – when an incident occurred shortly before 8.35pm on Friday 31 January, in Wharton Street in the Suffolk town.
The victim – a man aged his 50s – was approached by a group of six or seven young people while he was in his car. The group then began shouting at him and hitting his car.
The man then got out and asked the group what they were doing but they assaulted him and ran away in the direction of St John Road.
As a result of the incident, the man sustained a cut to his nose, a lost tooth, bruising to his cheek, cuts and grazes to his forehead, grazing to his knees and bruising to his chest area.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has knowledge of it should contact Suffolk police, by phoning 101 – or calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
