HRH Prince Philip Remembered

With Saturday marking the funeral service for HRH the Duke of Edinburgh ahead of his funeral service, perhaps one of Prince Philip’s biggest legacies, will be the awards that bear his name –  and were set up for young people.

Hundreads of thousands have taken part in the The Duke of Edinburgh Awards over the years.

The DofE charity works with organisations across the UK to help young people gain essential skills, experience, confidence and resilience to successfully navigate adult life.

Mark Galley from Beccles – who’s now an Area Commader and Major with the Suffolk Army Cadet Force,  received a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award – from Prince Philip and said: “the day I met the Prince at Kensington Palace and received my award, it was one of the bigest days of my life.”
