10 Years on from the Storm Surge in Suffolk

Today marks 10 years since the Suffolk coast was battered by a storm surge down the North Sea.

In Lowestoft, the sea flooded areas in and around Station Square, the quay in Beccles flooded and A12 at Blythburgh was closed by flood water.

The 5th Decemeber 2013 also saw sea water pour over Oulton Broad’s Mutford Lock and into the Broads, with Saltwater Way and Bridge Road closed to traffic.

Beccles Quayside flooded the following day:

Once again the Southwold to Wrentham B1127 road  flooded at Potter’s Bridge on the 6th December:
